Rafting on the Balsa River - Class 2-3

Rafting on the Balsa River in Costa Rica is a combination of pure fun, slight challenge and breathtaking nature. This is a must-do adventure for families and beginner rafting enthusiasts.

This river is relatively calm and doesn’t have too many difficult rapids. At certain points of the journey, the water is even docile enough to jump out of the raft and go for swim.

We will pick you up from your hotel or residence and drive about as a group about 45 minutes to the entrance of the river.

Before we begin our decent down the river, your friendly English-speaking river guide will provide all of the necessary safety gear as well as paddling instructions and special river “lingo” to get you paddling like a pro in no time.

The Balsa River is a lush rainforest paradise and is the home to many types of wildlife. Your guide will point out any wildlife he or she finds: sloths, monkeys, birds, lizards are frequently seen here!

Half-way through the tour, we will stop at the side of the river to enjoy fresh fruit and beverages and get a chance to swim in the fresh water river. And at the end of the tour, after changing into your dry clothes we will sit down to a typical Costa Rican lunch. Que Rico!
